I have changed my mind or I don’t like the artwork anymore. What can I do?
For artworks and other items that can be bought directly at the online shop you have the opportunity to return them and receive a refund. You have 14 days after delivery of the work to let us know. Before any return, please send us an email at email@example.com.
If your purchase is eligible to be returned, you will be requested by artContraire to send the purchase directly back to the artist as artContraire only serves as a mediator. Please do not send your purchase back to the artist or manufacturer without consultation with artContraire and an e-mail by artContraire confirming that you may return your purchase. Please note that we are not responsible for items that have been accidentally returned to us or an artist. If you want a returned package to be sent back to you, we may request that you cover the delivery cost. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. To be eligible for a return, your purchase must but be in the exact same condition that you received it. In the case of returns after cancellation, you are responsible for packaging the work. If an artwork has the label “Free return” we will cover the shipping costs for the return. If there is no such label, we do not pay for the return shipping costs nor do we refund the original shipping costs. Specific artworks, especially individual works such as portrait paintings, can not be returned. Please contact us before your purchase if you want to make sure the artwork you are interested in can be returned.
The artwork was damaged when it arrived. What should I do?
Contact us as soon as you notice the damage. Take photos to show us the current state of the work and we will make a decision together. Depending on the extent of the damage, we can either repair the work or you can return it and you will receive a refund. artContraire will cover the costs of repair and transport in case of damage during delivery. To claim a damage on your artwork or item, you need to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide proof of purchase for the item to speed up the process.
We only take back artworks/items and refund the price 1) in case the artwork was sent to you with mail service if was damaged on arrival, 2) in case of purchase at the artist’s studio with the mediation by artContraire if it was damaged at the moment of purchase.
How does the refund work
You will be refunded once the artwork has been returned to the artist.
