Egon Jakobsen was born in 1975 in Osttirol. He visited a technical secondary school for furniture and interior fitting. Later he studied architecture and stage design in Graz. As a student he worked at several theaters throughout Europe. In Austria he put the project „Die zornigen Lämmer“ (2009) on stage and created „Arthur Moder & die Zeitmaschine“ at the OTHEATER.
After a decade of stage-work he decided to get back to basics and started to work as a comic-strip artist. As a consequence he founded „Hampelmann-Animation e.U.“ in 2015. He developed what he calls the „ANIMATED FREEZE“. It invites the audience to dwell on a little- and sometimes the unexpected rewards the patient observer.
